Warsaw Steak Restaurants

Contrary to popular belief that is is not possible to find a good steak in Warsaw, we have hunted high and low to send this unpleasant misconception to sleep! We've not just found good steak, we've found great steak! Below you will find our steak recommendations.

A steak is a cut of meat (usually beef). Most are cut perpendicular to the muscle fibres, improving the perceived tenderness of the meat. In North America, steaks are typically served grilled, pan-fried, or broiled. The more tender cuts from the loin and rib are cooked quickly, using dry heat, and served whole. Less tender cuts from the chuck or round are cooked with moist heat or are mechanically tenderised. A restaurant that specialises in beef steaks is known, (in the U.S.), as a steakhouse.

The name ‘steak’ comes from the early 5th century AD, when the Saxons and the Jutes conquered Great Britain. The Old Norse word STEIK means ‘meat on a stick’; this was their favourite cooking method, done over a campfire.

The origin for the name ‘sirloin steak’ is not really known, but one popular (though unproven) story is that King Henry VIII was so enamoured with this type of meat, he  affectionately referred to it as ‘Sir Loin’.
