Located just 10 km South West of Warsaw Centre (Okecie) is Warsaw's airport - Frederic Chopin Airport. The airport has one terminal at present due to the closure of the much disliked Etiuda terminal in March 2009.
Frederic Chopin Airport is easily Poland's biggest airport handling 50% of the country's air traffic. In 2008, over 9 million passengers departed from the airport going to over 80 destinations.
The airport is used by the major airlines in addition to 3 budget airlines, Wizz Air, Germanwings & Norwegian Air Shuttle with Aer Lingus planning to start a service to Warsaw on 25 October 2009.
Train Connection to Warsaw Airport
There is no train connection with the airport.
Car and Bus Travel to Warsaw Airport
The airport is ten kilometers southwest of Warsaw. From the centre of the city you follow the road Zwirki í Wigury, which leads directly to the airport.
Between the terminal and the parking garage there is a bus station. The bus lines 175 and 188 go to the centre of Warsaw which takes around 30 minutes at a cost of just 60p (2.8 PLN). Buses leave every 10 minutes. At night take the N32 which goes straight to Warsaw Central Station.

In the Arrivals Hall there are counters for the car rental companies Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides. They compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi Travel to Warsaw Airport
Taxis are in front of the Arrivals Hall. In the Hall you are frequently approached by unofficial taxi drivers. The airport warns against going with them. There are three taxi companies that may bring passengers to and from the airport: Merc Taxi (tel: +48(0)22 677 77 77), MPT Radio Taxi (tel: +48(0)22 9191) and Sawa Taxi (tel: +48(0)22 644 44 44).
Warsaw Airport Parking
Garage P1 is for short term parking and has places for 1500 cars (first hour PLN 7.00, then PLN 5.00 per hour after that). Parking area P2 is also intended for short term parking (PLN 5.00 per hour, from the third hour PLN 4.00 per hour to a maximum of PLN 46.00 for the first day, then PLN 25.00 per day after that).
